In chat abbreviations ASL is short for age, sex,
location, a common abbreviation used to find out pertinent information
about a person you are chatting with. ASL is also typed as A/S/L. Chat
abbreviations are commonly used in Internet and
online communications mediums such as e-mail,
IRC, instant messaging,
or through SMS.
