BYOC

Short for bring your own computer. BOYC is a common phrase used by gamers when attending a multiplayer gaming event (often called LAN parties). BYOC is where gamers are asked to bring their own computer and hook it up to the network to take part in the multiplayer PC gaming event.

The event, which is named after id Software's game Quake, sees thousands of gamers from all over the world attend every year to celebrate the company's gaming dynasty. It is North America's largest LAN party, the largest free LAN party in the world, and usually runs over a period of four days.
