Abbreviated as CTM, Close to Metal is an ATI
device that is designed to expose the parallel array of floating-point
processors found in ATI graphics
hardware. CTM consists of this processor array
plus supporting components that control and feed the array. CTM is
controlled with a few commands to set parameters, invalidate and flush
caches,
and start the processors in the processing array.
