El Torito

A bootable CD-ROM format specification that allows a computer to boot from a CD-ROM. El Torito was proposed by IBM and Phoenix Technologies. It is an extension to the ISO 9660 CD-ROM specification.

This specification defines how makers of CD-ROMs can package several "images" of floppy and hard disks on a single CD with the ability to catalog these images and to selectively boot from any single image.
