flight mode
Last modified: Tuesday, September 19, 2006
Flight mode is a feature in many mobile phones and
PDAs that allows you to use
basic operations of the device while the transmitting function is switched off.
This enables passengers on airplanes to use the device in-flight, provided the device
was switched to flight mode before take-off. In flight mode, users cannot
perform some functions such as SMS or make phone calls. Flight mode is also
called airplane mode, offline mode, or standalone mode.
