Short for Simple HTML Ontology Extension, SHOE
is an XML-compatible extension to HTML that enables Web authors to
annotate their Web documents semantically with machine-readable knowledge. SHOE
is designed to make it possible for robots and other Web-agents to gather
meaningful information about Web pages and documents. It was developed by the
Parallel Understanding Systems Group at the University of Maryland at College
Park.
