Tillamook
Last modified: Monday, May 18, 1998
Codename for a low-power version of the Pentium microprocessor designed especially for portable devices. The Tillamook processor is Intel's first chip to be manufactured with a new 0.25-micron process, as opposed to 0.35 microns for previous chips. This means that transistors can be packed together more closely, which reduces the power requirements. The Tillamook chips runs at over 200 MHz and support MMXinstructions.
