V.92

V.92 is a dial-up modem specification from the
International Telecommunications
Union (ITU) that introduces new features providing convenience and performance
for the modem user, when compared to
V.90. The V.92 specification provides many enhancements over V.92 including
faster connect times, increased
upload speeds, and features Quick Connect, which shortens
the time it takes to make a connection. V.92 also includes Modem-On-Hold (MOH) and
it uses
V.44 data compression.
